Summertime Grilling
August 22, 2016 |
Hey all!
I’ve finally had a chance to catch my breath this weekend and relax! I promised you simple and easy recipes, and my dinner at the lake certainly delivers.
My family and I love spending time at the lake, wake boarding, jet skiing, and enjoying the sunny weather! Busy days mean hungry kids and parents, so my meal needs to be something simple and relatively quick. I love to grill, so making our whole meal on the grill is perfect for me.
I get corn going by placing it in aluminum foil with sea salt and butter and put them on the grill first. Then, I slice my potatoes and microwave them for three minutes to soften (I know, it’s a very chefy trick). I season thawed steaks with garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper and then they are ready for the grill. I try and get my potatoes and steak going at the same time, flipping the potatoes once when browned on each side. The steaks are also turned once. In this case we had filets, strip steaks, and rib-eyes to satisfy the whole crowd.
When my steaks are done to desired temperature (my house is always cook to order since everyone likes something different), I let them rest for 5-10 minutes. Once the potatoes come off the grill, they go in a bowl with butter and salt and toss to coat. The corn is perfect as is, just remove the foil! All together, this meal took me less than 40 minutes and left plenty of time to get back on the lake.
I hope you are enjoying your summer. Get grilling and enjoy a meal together!
